Education and childhood care workers
Why Vaccination Matters for Staff and Students working in early
childhood education, school and student teachers and outside
school hours carers.
Here are some of the main reasons it’s important to keep up to date with your vaccines as an education and childhood care worker.
👶 Children Are More Vulnerable
- Many children are too young to be fully vaccinated
- Young immune systems are still developing
- Some children have medical conditions that increase their risk
Your vaccination helps protect those who can’t fully protect themselves.
🦠 Childcare = High Exposure Environment
- Close contact every day
- Shared toys and surfaces
- Coughing, sneezing, and hands-on care
Illnesses like influenza, whooping cough (pertussis), measles, and COVID-19 can spread quickly in early learning settings.
🛡 Duty of Care & Workplace Safety
- Supports a safe learning environment
- Reduces risk of outbreaks
- Minimises staff illness and absenteeism
- Helps centres remain open and operational
Vaccination supports your workplace health and safety responsibilities.
👨👩👧 Protect Families & Community
Educators connect with:
- Children
- Families
- Colleagues
- Their own households
Staying up to date with vaccinations helps prevent illness spreading beyond the centre.
Vaccinations to consider:
Influenza
COVID-19
✔ Hepatitis A Hepatitis B
Whooping cough (Pertussis)
Chickenpox (Varicella)
✔ Measles, Mumps, Rubella
Workplace risks vary. Protection should too.
Find out which vaccinations are right for your staff.
- Request a quote, and we’ll collaborate with you to identify industry-specific vaccination needs.
- We then organise onsite clinics at your workplace for your staff, where they can schedule appointments with our skilled nurse immunisers.
- During the initial appointment, our Immunisation Nurse will review each employee’s Medicare Immunisation History Statement and any additional vaccination records to assess their vaccination status. If necessary, vaccinations are administered, and all records are securely stored in our clinical software. Additionally, vaccination records are uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR), ensuring employees have a reliable ongoing record.
- For vaccines requiring multiple doses, we coordinate return visits as needed and are available for new staff requiring vaccinations as they commence their roles.
We understand the health and safety of your employees are of paramount importance, and we are committed to working closely with you to ensure a successful occupational workplace vaccination program
